South Dakota Soybean Stories: Drew Peterson
Drew Peterson has been running his farming operation near Salem, SD, for over a decade where he raises soybeans, corn, and cattle and resides with his wife, Lauren, and their dog, Winston. While Drew grew up farming, he didn’t always intend on returning back to the farm in his adult life. He felt the calling to return to the farm, where he now works alongside his father, Steve, after his time at the University of South Dakota and a career on Wall Street.
In addition to running his operation, Drew also sits as a Director for South Dakota Soybean Association. He works to make sure that policies set in place on Capitol Hill are benefiting South Dakota soybean farmers. His call to public service doesn’t end there – he also began serving in the South Dakota House of Representatives on behalf of the farmers and communities of District 19 in January 2023.
